An Israeli spy drone that was shot down in Iran last month was launched from an air base in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous, according to claims made by Iranian press earlier today.
The spy drone belonging to Israeli armed forces was shot down on August 23rd near to an Iranian nuclear site in what is suspected of being an attempt to spy on the secret facility.
Claims that the drone was launched from Azeri territory were made earlier today by Iranian news station PressTV, who state that an anonymous tipster passed on information regarding the drone’s secret mission.
PressTV’s claims come just hours after the announcement of plans to build 100 unmanned drones in a joint effort between Israeli and Azerbaijani companies. If claims made prove true then the drone’s launch and the manufacturing announcement may indicate an increasing level of military cooperation between the Middle Eastern and Caucasian regimes.
