The man was arrested after a special investigation involving cyber police specialists, who traced the Facebook user using his mobile phone location.
The man in question, who remains anonymous, used Facebook to anonymously contact fellow gay men by posting his phone number online and asking them to call him.
The act in question was described by authorities as an attempt to fulfil his ‘sexual lust’ and described the man as having engages in ‘unethical sexual acts with several boys’.
The Facebook user denies the claims, and states that he does not know how to use Facebook.
The man will face trial later this month. His exact charges are not known, though it is likely he will face execution under Iran’s strict anti-gay laws.
