A group of Armenian women have today set off on a cross-country march to raise awareness of gender-based violence in their country.

The group of women set off this morning from the Armavir region in the West of the country and will march to the capital city of Yerevan in an attempt to draw attention to the widespread problem of gender-based violence that many women in Armenia face.

The march is supported by the Women’s Resource Centre of Armenia, one of the groups that took part in recent protests against domestic violence in the country as part of Armenia’s National Day Against Domestic Violence.

For more information on the march and how you can support visit the project’s Facebook page.
